The Last (American) Meal

Last night, Monica Bollenbaugh, Anna Juhl and I stayed with Anna's family in Eagan, Minn. Seen here:
Yeah, that's right, we were hosted by three dogs and a cat named Jesse. They got us pizza and we spent the whole night discussing dog shows. Just kidding.

Actually, we stayed with her parents and brother, Dave. And they did get us what will probably be our last American food for a while (except for the Starbucks I plan on beelining for when we get to the airport in about an hour).

Anna's grandpa taught us two things in Danish: "nej," pronounced ni, which means no. Something, he says, every girl ought to know before going to Denmark. And also "tak," pronounced tuck, which means thank you. Something Anna's grandmother says will be necessary to know. They are wonderful! Ironically enough, these grandparents of Anna's met on a Grand View Choir Tour in 1951, back when the school was only a two-year college.

Our flight takes off at about noon today. I wish I could tell you how lengthy it seems as we're in the air, but that won't be possible. So, I'll update you after we touch down in Denmark.
